Dear Group,
I try to use K-PACs on PC had GE RA 600.
both are DICOM viewer they used to import from Archive to local.
- The Problem I had RA 600 Fail to import data!!!
Thanks for Eng. Hussain (3sh Abo Haider) we fix the problem. here the
solution.
Solution: because both using the Port number "104" for receiving DICOM
images
The Archive enable to send to port and make the other one hugging. So
just change the port of one you software.
Ex: we change K-PACs to 5104 port number and it went fine

Good luck

Salam All,

I'm really happy to see this discussion.

I think you are both right !! Mohammed implies that two applications cannot listen on same port no. ON SAME TIME using TCP..
In basic words, it is actually not practical to do so !! because message from sender will not know where to go !!

Saud,
Can you please try to run the two application on the same time ? If possible, Can you please send an image from a 3rd software to any of the other application ?

Proof to what I said is on the following link ..
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1694144/can-two-application-listen-to-the-same-port

Thanks a lot MohammeSaud I'm realy delighted to see such discussion going on ..

Thanks again,
hussein

Hussain,

Thanks for your input.

you mean i should try running the PACS software "ie service tools in our situation" AND K-PACS?

more to follow,

can i run K-PACS from two different clients using a different AE title but also using the same port? that might be a problem in the TCP/IP protocol.

Saud,

Running K-PACS from two different clients means that you are running them from two different IPs. Thus, having same port No. will not make a problem.

What we want to check, is running your other DICOM software (the one using 104) alone should not make conflict with K-PACS eventhough it is using same port (104) because in this case K-PACS listener is OFF..

Regards,
hussein
