Version 1.0 release and the Launch Event

Hello Pyxel users!

We are happy to announce that Pyxel has reached a stable version 1.0.0! To celebrate together, we are preparing a launch event to showcase all the exciting new features. The event will take place on March 10 from 15:00 to 17:00 (CET) on Microsoft Teams. You can register for the event at the registration page. The launch event will feature a quick tour of Pyxel and new features, installation instructions, examples of HxRG detector and exoplanet transit simulations and more and will finish with a Q&A session with developers. This will be a unique chance to interact with all Pyxel developers, and take a deep dive into the code together!

What is new in 1.0

Version 1.0 brings parallel computing in observation mode with dask, new models (dark current, non-linearity, ADC) with more on the way, simplified detector properties definition in the configuration file for easier usage and contribution, more options for saving outputs, various bug fixes, changed command-line interface, fresh examples, more detailed documentation and much more. In preparation for the release all the existing models were thoroughly reviewed and improved. See the changelog for the detailed list of changes. From here on Pyxel will use semantic versioning notation.
