I'm excited about and getting involved in a project to develop an
interactive on-line tool for delivering Python exercises:
http://pykata.appspot.com
I have two questions about which you may have some insight:
1. What is the easiest way to take an application (like pykata)
written for the google app engine, using Bigtable, and make is
runnable outside the app engine infrastructure? We don't mind running
our project in google's cloud, but we don't want to be stuck in it.
You mentioned a free software version of something like Bigtable at
Pycon the year before last. What was that and is there any new news
about it?
2. We are involved in a Django vs. Web2py discussion. Not knowing
either (or any, for that matter) web framework yet, I'm interested in
learning one, not two, to begin. Any thoughts? (You realize, of
course, I'm inviting you into a mine field ;-)
Thanks!

btw. I'm greatly enjoying using your book with my classes this
Spring. It is working very well!
