Learning to use webdav and eventually caldav

Hi,

I have been tasked to implement a caldav client for our internal
purposes in python. Since caldav is an extension to webdav and I have
never worked with either of them, is this project a good starting
point towards learning webdav and eventually caldav?

The caldavd client project at Darwin calendar project has a client
library but has no documentation and seems too complicated for a
fresher to these technologies.
