Recommend Israeli registrar

Hi dudes,

I have a client who has a .co.il domain registered for ISOC-IL and now ISOC-IL is forcing him to move to a third-party registrar (because they want to stop handling domain registrations themselves.)

They have a list of ~10 registrars here: http://en.isoc.org.il/domains/registration.html

My question: Can anyone here relate good or bad experiences with any of the registrars so I could figure out which one is a good choice?

Hi,
For a project, we are looking for a good deployment tool.
It needs to be able to deploy Docker containers into Linux machines and
also an ASPX legacy Windows application into a dedicated AWS Windows
instance.

As other tools use a "Ruby" syntax I am looking at SaltStack a a
deployment tool.

Any pros/cons on using SaltStack for this?

I used LiveDNS. No problems so far. And I think InterSpace is cheating because they are not related to InterNIC (I almost used them by mistake because I thought they were InterNIC). All the others I don't know.

It’s… a guy with a spreadsheet. The registrar is a guy with a spreadsheet. Everything you try to do - from buying a domain to switching DNS server - is done by this guy, and it’s not like he works very long hours. Usually, it gets done the next day if there are no problems. But you know… if you do not get another reply within one day, you may want to contact them again.

Hahahaha.

I think Israeli companies just tend to suck at giving the kind of services that you'd expect from a domain registrar or a web host. (i.e. a service that requires high reliability and availability, but the profits per customer are very low and require having many customers to break even.) I'm gonna try LiveDNS, they seem okay.

What can you expect from a company which uses the name of a well-known international organization (not related to them) + "Israel". I posted an order on their website but at the last moment I didn't pay and when they contacted me I already realized that they are not InterNIC, so I was able to cancel without being charged.

Any .il domain name registrar recommended 2019? I have problems with LiveDNS and I want to stop using them.

Do I have to renew a domain when I transfer it to a new registrar? Does it cost money?

Are there big differences with prices or quality between registrars?

Not relevant with non-.il domain names, there I prefer to use NameSilo most of the time.

GoDaddy cheated me 2 years ago and recently they refunded me "taxes" which they collected from me in 2017. I read about a class action lawsuit against them. I spent at least 3 hours trying to receive this refund which eventually I received. They insisted on refunding it to the same credit card I used in 2017 (which I don't use any more). You can register a domain even for 99 cents with GoDaddy but if you turn your back they will pick your pocket. I would not recommend using them.

Anyone else got a refund from GoDaddy?

I got a few of these refunds from GoDaddy but I stopped using them a long time ago for these reasons exactly

For .il domains, I'm using LiveDNS and so far they ok, they have an ok control panel and never had to speak with their customer care

i worked with internic, domainthenet, galcomm, box and LiveDNS. So far I would recommend LiveDNS for good service and box if you are looking for cheap service.

The advantages of LiveDNS is their system, not perfect and has many caveats, but it works well and I never needed to talk to them about the usage of the system.

The advantages of Box is the price, but it ends there, they had a data leak some time ago, after I moved everything from them, and the panel is really restricting if you manage more than 5 domains.

The rest have higher prices and poor management panels.
