I installed python(x,y) today and have an issue using PyDev in
Eclipse. I tried the exact example project in the HTML getting started
page but when I try to run the project I get an error dialog with the
window title "Unable To Launch" and the message "The selection cannot
be launched, and there are no recent launches.". The PyDev page
suggests that there can't be a space in the PYTHONPATH, and the
installation is in C:\Program Files\pythonxy\ folder. Any hints on
getting the basic demo working?

Hi,

Well, normally you shouldn't have to do anything special to make this
simple demo work.

I would need more infos to help you.

What is exactly the error message? (could you eventually send some
relevant screenshots?)
What do you mean exactly by "The PyDev page suggests that there can't
be a space in the PYTHONPATH"?
What Python(x,y) edition have you installed? with what settings?

Thanks for reporting this problem.

I got it working OK. It seemed to be related to saving the first file
correctly. My question now is using pyQT4 within Eclipse. The
Python(x,y) site shows a screen shot where QTDesigner is running
including widgets. When I run in Eclipse, I get the QTDesigner menu,
but don't see any widgets or controls on the right side of the window.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Eric

Go take a look at these screenshots, you'll find a way to show Qt
widgets:
