PythonXy won't open

After upgrading pythonxy to 2.7.10.0, PythonXY doesn't seem to open/start anymore  I uninstalled python and pythonxy an reinstalled them a couple of days ago and I was able to open PythonXY and Spyder, but today I back to them failing to start.

It seems to be the same or similar issue as seen here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/33862268/pythonxy-and-spyder-fail-to-start-type-error-in-configparser-py

I was wonder if there was a solution or workaround to this?
