If you look at:

http://linux.pythonxy.com/ubuntu/dists/

you'll see that there's no release for Karmic Koala (Ubuntu 9.10).
What gives?

If you look at:

http://groups.google.com/group/pythonxy-linux?hl=en (this google
group's homepage)

you'll see that not only has this question already been asked, it has
also been answered. Why not ask if there is something you could do to
help make a release happen? Otherwise, you are wasting time that is
already in short supply (and that's why there is not a current
release.)

Or you could be a gigantic jerk about it. It was just a question ...
hadn't seen the other thread.

If you know how to make packages for Ubuntu, that would be the most
helpful. I think the person who has done the most work is Tim, who
started a PPA (personal package archive):

https://edge.launchpad.net/~pythonxy

If there are any parts of Python X,Y that you use (or would like to
use), package them up, and submit them to the PPA. There is a
tutorial on how to make packages here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=51003

You will need to know how to compile things from source. It's not
hard at all when things work the way they should. Here's a couple of
tutorials:

http://www.tuxfiles.org/linuxhelp/softinstall.html
Ubuntu-specific (tells you a prerequisite package):
http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-install-source-files-in-ubuntu.html

You'll probably find that it is much easier to simply install things
from source than to package them. You will be helping people a lot if
you do the extra work to make the package, though. If you get hung up
on part of it, I will try to help you. I'm sure Tim or any of the
others would also.
