A question on the parameter 'radius' for function 'mahotas.features.lbp'

Hi, everyone :

I've used 'mahotas.features.lbp' to extract LBP features from gray images, and I noticed the parameter 'radius' could be set as a float; if this parameter describes the distance between every peripheral point and the reference point in terms of pixels, how will the peripheral points be selected with 'radius' set to 0.5, or any other value below 1.0? Thanks!
