to PythonSCAD

Hi everyone,

I would like to share something I have been working on that may be useful for people who create 3D models with PythonSCAD.

There are already many great platforms for sharing finished 3D models. PyForge is a little different: it focuses on the design process itself — sharing ideas, source code, and knowledge around how a model is created.

PyForge is a free, open platform for sharing PythonSCAD designs. The goal is to make it easy to learn from each other, improve designs together, and build on existing work.

With PyForge you can:

  • Upload designs with PythonSCAD source files, 3MF files, images and tags
  • Browse and search designs by keyword, tag or designer
  • Share designs that are still in development and ask for feedback
  • Leave comments, discuss improvements and exchange ideas
  • Follow designs and receive notifications about updates or new comments

Browsing is free. A free account is required to upload designs or download source files.

The main idea behind PyForge is that a design is more than just a finished print. The source code, parameters and discussion around a model are what make it valuable. Instead of only sharing a final file, creators can share their approach and others can learn, adjust and improve it.

PythonSCAD makes it possible to create flexible, parametric designs. PyForge is built around that idea: designs are not only something to download, but something to explore and develop further.

Whether you have finished models, experiments, or ideas that are still evolving, PyForge is a place to share your work and get input from others.

The platform is still new (in Beta) and will hopefully grow together with the people who use it. I would really like to invite you to try it out, upload your own designs, join the discussions, and become part of building this community.

Looking forward to seeing what you create.
