As we mentioned to everybody on our last meeting, on June 2nd & 3rd, KCITP (largest IT professionals group in KC) is having a 24 hour developer & designer contest called, Hack The Midwest . It is a hackathon to build web or mobile apps on APIs and get a chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes.

Michael Gelphman the organizer of the event was nice enough to give us a discount code for PythonKC members and also mentioned that more prizes that ARENT tied to particular API usage will be announced closer to the event. To register go to http://hackthemidwest.eventbrite.com and use the promo code HACKME for 20% off (Expires in 24 hours!)

Here's a message Mike sent to the KCITP members with more info and some updates. Hope to see you all there!
