If we can have slides/a Beamer i could talk about GIS without being focused on python but more on general tools and data, I.e. Dublinked, osm, TIGER, postgis, qgis, pgrouting, and openlayers.
The talk wouldn't necessarily feature all the things but would try to get you started without being focused on a specific programming language.

Cheers,
Ulrich

Hi Jakub/Ulrich,

Looks like GIS is a popular choice, Jakub/Ulrich, are you ok with that?

Let me know and I'll talk to you on a separate thread.

I have done some work with Python and OSM / Cloudmade and Google Maps, I would love to help if needed.

Thanks! But we only needed one talk as it seems that we may have too many user groups in the 10 minute talks before a special event later in the event.

Oooh, now that you volunteered, how about giving a talk at Python Ireland's December meetup (Wed 12th Dec)? :-D

Cheers,

Hi Jakub,
I have been working on Django and Simulation Python and OSM / Google Maps for some time. I am happy to give a quick talk about the work I am doing but would require help in preparing the slides, since I have not done this kind of talk before.

Great stuff! We can put you down for a quick talk for Wed December 12th?
Can I get a title and a short abstract off you?

Jakub, you good to give a talk that evening as well?
If yes, can I also get a title and a short abstract from you.

Anyone else up for a talk? Again, we welcome lightning talks.

Yep, it's Wed 12th December, our last meetup of 2012. You ok with me videoing the talk, if I am there with a video camera?

Hrishi, if I do video the talk, are you ok with that? If not, that is ok, just send me slides.

Uli,

It's good idea to wrap up the year and highlight plans (talks, workshops) for next year.

Apart from 15min talk about Multi-Mechanize I will
prepare 5-10 min photo and video overview of 2012: Europython, PyConUK, and PyConIE.
Some sort of quick slideshow + 2x short 2-3min videos.

Thanks Jacub, I'd do a roundup, but I can't make it on the 12th. I'll see you on the 4th though.

If I am there to take the footage it will be uploaded to http://www.youtube.com/user/pythonireland & http://www.youtube.com/user/pyconireland

There's not videos in the Python Ireland one as all my other videos previously has been uploaded to https://vimeo.com/groups/pythonirelandhttps://vimeo.com/groups/pyconireland

I don't know why people prefer youtube to vimeo, the UI is so much nicer to use.

I'll prob have to set aside time now to download and re-upload the other videos to youtube.

By the way, if people find any issues with the videos from PyConIE this year, please let us know.

Cheers,
