We are thinking about holding a software developer event in the new
year at some stage. Do you know of any good speakers who would be of
interest to the development market and would be happy to speak for a
fee?
Thanks
Claire
A few random suggestions
Berg (http://berglondon.com/) have gotten a lot of press in the last week
with their little printer project (http://bergcloud.com/littleprinter/),
while really more designers than programmers they have done a lot of
stuff, I would love to hear them talk.
David Heinemeier Hansson http://twitter.com/#!/dhh , is the creator of
Ruby on rails and a well known and usually entertaining speaker.
The guys at http://orchestra.io/ are dublin based, and where recently
acquired by engine yard and would probably make interesting speakers.
http://simonwillison.net/ is a well known uk based web developer, I've
been trying to get him to come over here and speak for years.
http://lanyrd.com/ is a useful site to use to hunt for speakers, you can
look through past conferences and their speaker lists and see if theres
anyone that looks like what you are looking for.
Good luck
Sean

+1 for Simon Willison. Very interesting speaker, especially in
relation to his crowd-sourcing work on the UK MP expenses scandal a
couple of year back.
Another interesting UK Python speaker is Michael Foord.
