Hi all,

I thought members of this group might be interested in a competition
that we are running called Apps4Fingal.

We want developers to build mobile or internet apps based on Fingal
Open Data - you could win up to €5,000

You can find more information at http://data.fingal.ie/apps4fingal

We are also running a Developer Day as part of International Open Data
Hack Day on 3rd December in Fingal Civic Offices, Blanchardstown.

You can register for this event at http://apps4fingal.evehtbrite.com

Thanks,

Dominic.

Dominic Byrne,
Assistant Head of Information Technology,
Fingal County Council.

Are there any existing groups working on this, or other people interested? Could we form a Python Ireland group? I'm pretty sure that Nash would support that approach over multiple individual efforts.

I'm definitely interested. Who or what is Nash?

He was a character in "A Beautiful Mind" ;)

"... in many cases, all the players might improve their payoffs if
they could somehow agree on strategies different from the Nash
equilibrium: e.g., competing businesses forming a cartel in order to
increase their profits."

Of course! I should have known. :)

Anyway, I'm definitely interesting in joining someone for this competition. Playing with data is always fun. :)
