resize window in PySide2 event

anyone have a link or an example of using events and resizing a window? 

basically, I want to set up an event trigger when the window is resized to adjust the size of a panel to it doesnt get too big

Can you just set a maximumSize on the widget containing the panel? 

Or do you need to be able to dynamically check conditions during every resize event and apply specific size values to the child panel? You can search for "qt resizeEvent example" and find a ton of usages.
