hello there,
Can someone answer me this quick question. If i have an ep curve that i have plotted from 4 points, the curve has 3 spans and a 'u' (parametric) value of 3. However when i create an ep curve from 2 points, and then use the 'insertKnotCurve' command to add two more points:
cmds.insertKnotCurve('curve2.u[0.333]','curve2.u[0.666]', rpo=True)
the resulting curve has a 'u' value of 1. Even though it has the same number of edit points now as the first curve.
-------------------
Using the 'rebuildCurve' command is a way of mending this. But i cannot use it without the points of my curve slightly shifting their position. The reason they need to have the same u value is because i need to loft them later and they will only loft correctly with the same parametric range.
I know i have mentioned something similar about this before on here, but didn't really find a solution.
The only thing i can think of really is to use pointPosition for each of the new points on the curve and plot the whole curve again so it is like the first.
Any help on this would be a life saver.
thanks to all;)
