Create custom node to be displayed in the outliner (API 2.0)

Hi,

I'm new to the Maya API 2.0 and I have a basic kDependNode that works just as intended, but I wanted it to show in the outliner to work as a regular transform (with channel box attrs, being able to parent stuff underneath it etc.). How do I go about this?
