Hello everyone!

I'm relatively new to SimPy and I just want to take minute to say thank you to all the contributors for doing this great work! I find it very refreshing how SimPy manages to strike the right balance between simplicity of the API while not compromising on capabilities and the wide range of use cases it can be used for.

I've been building this catalog of examples and with every new addition I feel like I'm learning something new https://teachyourselfsystems.com/examples -- the Playground also has a cheatsheet for people that might be new to the space and want to dive right in.

Thanks,
Andrei

Dear Andrei,

A GREAT thing you did!

A few years ago, when I semi-retired, I learned Python to keep me busy.

For a while I played around with simply. The way I learned it to some extend (I never became very good at it, but I enjoyed it very much!) was to look at whatever sample programs there were, copied them and tried to understand them. I loved it, so super what it can do!

I have switched to some other library in the meantime – which I also learned by playing around with whatever simulation existed.

Your samples will surely help others very much to learn and apply simply!

Tale care!

Peter

@Peter
May I asked what simulation package you switched to?

Dear Andrei,

I am a mechanical engineer by training, but worked as a salesman all my life.

I switched to sympy.physics.mechanics, which can be used to set up equations of motion for multi body systems.

More along my lines – but I enjoyed playing around with simply!!

Take care!

Peter
