okay, python-ogre is definitely not using ogre's mantis tracker. so,
which is it?
If we don't have a bug tracker, I believe it's about time we have one
installed. I can install it somewhere if you want.

In our company we use FlySpray bug tracker and so far it is the best
one we've tried. strongly reccomended.

I agree that we should have one. I'm partial to trac due to it's
integration with SVN and changesets. It make RSS feeds of commits
super easy and in general feels in tune with (my) developers needs.

But am willing to use others like mantis, and learning FlySpray would be fine.

https://www.launchpad.net/ is another option. Its a project managed by
Canonical.

well, whichever tool we decide upon, it's clear that we need one.

my opinions:
Trac is a wiki and a bug tracker, Launchpad is even more. We already
have a wiki and a website, and imho, we only need a bug tracker.
You can check-out a live demo of flyspray's tracker at http://bugs.flyspray.org/.

But, let's make it democratical and cast a vote :)

so, what should we do about the bug tracker? I can set up flyspray or
whichever on either python-ogre.org or http://python-ogre.sourceforge.net/.
I'd need login information or some other way to access the server or I
can guide someone to do it. it's quite easy.

I'm all for flyspray since like you said we have every thing else in
place.

Sourceforge provides bug tracking that we can make use of. It's
already setup for this project? Can we start using that for the time
being?

yeah, but sf.net's tracker is just awful compared to other tracking
systems.

I agree that SF.net is not the way to go, and a lot of folks have recommended Flyspray... However, that would require even more of Andy's time to configure and maintain on his server. We haven't heard from him in a while, so I have to assume he's put things on hiatus for now, even though we really need a bug tracker. So, to resolve this, I think that, as a real open source project, we should use Launchpad, as it is freely maintained for OSS projects, and we can set it up ourselves. I've seen it used before, and it's really nice. I think it would be ideal for us. Also, it might get us more exposure in the OSS community.

here's a thought: I can temporarily set up flyspray on my company's
server (eg, http://www.cateia.cow/python-ogre/tracker) and we can just
migrate the database to python-ogre's server or wherever when andy
finds the time and if we all agree that this turned out to be a good
idea :)

Please let me know when the bug tracker goes up.  I need to add some stuff.
