On November 6, 2015, upon the release of Black Ops III, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Activision Blizzard launched a production studio called Activision Blizzard Studios and are planning a live action Call of Duty cinematic universe in 2019.[76] On February 16, 2018, it was announced that Stefano Sollima will direct the film. Days later, he told Metro UK that he is considering having both Tom Hardy and Chris Pine as the leads for the film.[77][78] In an interview with FilmSlash, Sollima stated that the film will be a real soldier movie, not a war movie.[79] On November 27, 2018, it was announced that Joe Robert Cole will be writing the sequel.[80] Filming on the first film was supposed to start filming in Spring 2019 for a 2020 or 2021 release.[81] In February 2020, Sollima revealed in an interview that the film is put on hold saying that it's not Activision's priority.[82]

The Call of Duty series might soon join the Xbox family with Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard. With that major deal looking set to close, we're looking back at the history of Call of Duty and specifically all the celebrities who have lent their voices and likenesses to the series over the years. Given the enormity of the Call of Duty series, it's no big surprise that Activision would recruit major stars for roles big and small, and there have been many famous actors and celebrities who have suited up and gone to virtual war in Call of Duty since the series debuted in 2003.

The TurboV Processing Unit (TPU) provides AI Suite 3 with the intelligence needed to automatically fine-tune voltages, monitor system stats, and adjust overclocking settings. We have upgraded this tool to provide AI Overclocking prediction values for users who want more insight when experimenting with different settings.

The Energy Processing Unit (EPU) enables system-wide power efficiency to automatically optimize power consumption to maximize energy savings. This tool now features temperature regulation that adjusts the CPU frequency according to processor temperatures. Users can now set a threshold to balance temperature and performance.

Call of Duty: Black Ops "6" or whatever they eventually decide to call it will launch in the shadow of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, which has become notorious for the quality (or lack thereof) of its campaign mode. Reports from Bloomberg have previously suggested that this year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was developed in the space of a few months, as Treyarch sought delays for its own Call of Duty title.

The statement is mostly just empty assurances with little to no actionable substance, but it still came as a notable surprise since Call of Duty devs traditionally don't utter a word about matchmaking. I don't know if they were put under some ancient curse that prevented them from speaking of it, but seriously, we've basically never heard about matchmaking in CoD before. Granted, we still haven't, but now we apparently will. And soon!

Will the Call of Duty team turn up in a few weeks carrying a perfectly engineered solution that will satisfy the two diametrically opposed camps in the SBMM debate? Hell no, but Modern Warfare 3 and the community's understanding of its matchmaking might be better off in the end, which is a healthy start.

As for his own future, Lenz plans to return to Texas at the end of his two-year tour of duty. His children and grandchildren, he says, want him home. But with Lenz's sense of responsibility to children beyond just his own, don't be surprised if the psychologist ends up heading back to his Guatemalan classroom.

Call of Duty: WWII is, not unexpectedly, not very historically accurate. However, there are several instances of historical accuracy that makes me think at least one writer did some homework. The members of the French Forces of the Interior, the French resistance group led by General and future president of France Charles De Gaulle, had armbands featuring the actual insignia of the FFI. There is also a cut scene and a segment that takes place in the largely and sadly unknown Berga concentration camp, where several hundred G.I.s were imprisoned and many were worked to death or shot. The cut scene portrayed camp commandant Erwin Metz, as well as a brief dialogue exchange that is known to have occurred at the camp. There certainly could and should have been more poignant and historically accurate moments, but the few they have are much appreciated.

Acknowledging calls for future research involving video games and rhetoric and composition, this dissertation project answers those calls and furthers our understanding about playing video games as rhetorical action, but more importantly, this dissertation shows how a writing pedagogy based on gaming helps students better understand traditional and multimodal composition processes if the playing experience and the writing experience are considered together.
