Well, this was actually merged to cpython master in August, so not really new by now, but I only discovered recently...

If anyone remembers our old snippets section in the wiki:

And now (28 Aug 2018: exactly 9 years after that wiki post!):

No more having to choose between copy-pasting your own snippets or adding dependecies. It will be available in std functools

Very nice!

FYI I'm now a core developer of Python, and I'd be happy to help move forward other suggestions like this.
