The Google Python course says to download Python 2.7. I downloaded the newest version and the exercise files included in Google's zip file do not run as they are supposed to. Is this tutorial not compatible with the newest version of Python? Does that also mean it is outdated and irrelevant? I am a second year college IT and Web Development student trying to learn Python on my own. If anyone has a recommendation for a good tutorial or course, please let me know. Thanks a lot!

Hello! Python 3.xx is the new version of Python and is not compatible with Python 2.7

Happy coding!

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the clarification. I wish they had an updated version of the tutorial.

This course from Udacity is also by google and i recommend it as introduction
https://www.udacity.com/course/introduction-to-python--ud1110
After that you can go for advanced course depending on which field you are intending to use python for
