I want to connect my phone to my bluetooth device with the following
code:

>import bluetooth
> sock=bluetooth.BluetoothSocket(bluetooth.RFCOMM)
> sock.connect(("00:11:05:25:05:08",1))

This works perfectly when i run it on my Ubuntu pc. However when i run
it on my galaxy s (i9000) with android 2.2.1 i get the following
error:

bluetooth.btcommon.BluetoothError:(113, 'no route to host')

what could cause this and how should i deal with it? Maybe my phone
needs to be rooted?

I get the same error on my phone (evo 4G no root) with similar code
(different bt device). It works for me under Ubuntu as well. The
same code runs for me on my hero with cm6. I haven't had time yet to
compare logcats to see the difference. I will look tonight.

EVO sucks! They're using a modified BlueZ, that's why it doesn't work.

I had some strong suspicions that was the case.
I may root to cm.

you need to root your phone, it will surely not work with Android >= 4.2
as the stack has changed, and may not work on some phones that don't
have bluez stack.
