Dear all,

this is an announcement of the joint release of openpyxl 2.6.4 and openpyxl 3.0.0. They both contain a single bugfix for saving workbooks with comments multiple times.

The two versions are functionally equivalent but openpyxl >= 3 no longer supports Python 2. This version will be the basis for all future releases and, it is intended that openpyxl 2.6.4 will be the final release that supports Python 2.

For those of you still using Python 2 you will need to pin your code to openpyxl<3. Official support for Python 2 runs out at the end of the year, so if you're still using it on any connected system you should plan to migrate away because there will be no more security updates. Of course, we all know that there are some systems out there running older versions of Python and openpyxl. But, they probably don't need updating, do they? ;-)

Hope you enjoy these releases.

Charlie
