Hi list,

I see that the maintainers don't have a whole lot of time to devote to Babel right now. But is there any chance we could have a 0.9.7 interim release with the features that have been committed since 0.9.6? In my case, I refer specifically to the addition of support for message context in SVN changeset 623, I'd really like to be able to use that without installing Babel from SVN.

Could I help in any way to ease a 0.9.7 release along?

Best regards,
Philip Chimento

I confirm that a release would be nice. Today I converted all my Django projects to use Babel and thought several times "Why the hell didn't I do this earlier!". Really a great product! The missing support for pgettext/contexts was the only drop of bitterness in an otherwise love-at-first-sight experience. See my blog http://lino-framework.org/blog/2013/0323.html for an example of why this feature is important to me. And thanks, Philip, for your question which told me that using the SVN trunk is a workaround; i'll try that tomorrow.

Actually, my new job that started this month will get me doing more Python
than the past few years have allowed me.

I'll take stock and check with Stefan to see if we can get a release rolling
to at least fix these things on the short term and pick up more regular
development.

It's been over a month, what's the status on this?
