Hi guys, I will be trying out the library tomorrow, is there anything I need to know?

I have a black USB stick with GARMIN on it, and with small letters stating "USB1 Wireless USB Stick". When I plug it in, dmesg returns

You should be fine. Just make sure to use the release (PyPI) version.

It worked like a charm!!! :-)

I did it on a ubuntu 11.10, installed the egg from http://pypi.python.org/pypi/ant/0.1.0 and used the demos from https://github.com/mvillalba/python-ant/tree/develop/demos/ant.core to test basic functionality (only tested my HT monitor; I will test my GSC10 later).

Prior to installation I installed python-setuptools and python-dev (the latter one was required, otherwise I got a Python.h error during setup)

This is SO cool!!! :-)

I would really like to develop something similar to TrainerRoad (maybe not with the web-interface) using this, it would be really, really nice to have that kind of functionality under Linux...

I'd be happy to write setup-instructions/documentation if you'd like me to; my python-skills are not brilliant, but hey, its just yet another language... ;-)

Btw, I really think you should have a link in the top documentation of the github-repo to this group; it can be quite difficult to find either ones due to the naming...

Hello,

Great to see that it worked! I am using this system for our research
project at the University of Twente. I will be creating applications
that use the library and parse the data, there is already a little bit
of the processing of the data available for Speed Cadence sensors on
this project https://github.com/agcooke/Sofie-HDF-Format, in the ant
parsing files...

Good idea for the open source TrainerRoad thing... maybe that's a good
direction to steer the project! Martin, have you updated the docs to
add the group? Good idea to connect the two closer.

Regards,

Adrian Cooke

Did you ever get this working?  I have a raspberry pi and a power meter on my bike and I'd love to build something similar to TrainRoad (which I've been using for years now).

I'm still a little stuck getting from HR data to reading the power meter, any advice?

Thanks
Eric
