Hi PyTables developers,

NumFOCUS Project Summit will held next November 1st-4th. I'm planning to attend as a representative of PyTables and Blosc projects, but there is another slot for another guy. If anyone wants to join me in New York, please let us know.

Hi PyTables Team,

Planning is in full swing for this year’s NumFOCUS Project Summit! The Summit will be held November 1st thru 4th at Microsoft in NYC.

We will kick things off Friday, November 1st with a Reception Dinner at Havana Central.

The Summit program (Nov 2-3) will be aimed at addressing both the challenge of securing funding and navigating the challenges of project governance and leadership. You can view the schedule in more detail here. We’ve also made sure there is ample time allocated for open collaboration and discussion. Raise an issue in our Github repo to set topics for unconference time.

November 4th will be an optional day for Collaborative Sprints between projects in conjunction with PyData NYC.

NumFOCUS will cover travel expenses for two representatives per sponsored project:

An airfare allotment of $600 for each representative
Hotel accommodations for 3 nights in New York City

The airfare amount is an average; we understand international travel costs will exceed this amount. Travel expenses will be covered via reimbursement, however if you need to have your airfare paid upfront please contact us. You can submit reimbursements here.

When selecting Summit attendees to represent your project, we ask that you take diversity into consideration, in addition to other factors. NumFOCUS wishes for the participant community at the Summit to reflect the diversity of experiences and identities within our larger community, in alignment with our values.
