Hi,
The NumFOCUS crew is insiting in getting our input on topics for the forthcoming NumFOCUS meeting in November. Personally, I'd like to ask more information about Tidelift.com, and specially how NumFOCUS can help sponsored projects to get more resources from Tidelift.
Also, as I said, I plan to attend the NumFOCUS conference this year, but they allow up to 2 persons per project. If anyone is interested in joining me in New York, please let me know!
Cheers,
Francesc

Subject: [NumFOCUS Projects] PLEASE RESPOND re: NumFOCUS Summit: your input on topics
To: <
proj...@numfocus.org>
Hi folks,
Hope everyone had a good weekend! I am back in office and wanted to bring the below to your attention:
The Program Committee has decided on the main topics for the Summit:
Funding
Leadership/Governance/Project Management
ACTION ITEMS
We're requesting that all projects:
- Please propose detailed topics/sessions that fall within the scope of the main topics (funding and leadership).
- These can be ones that you'd like to see/participate in, or that you would like to lead.
- You can reply on this list, or send them to Ralf (ralf.g...@gmail.com)
- Discuss within your project and have the person/people most interested in or suitable for participating in discussion around the Summit topics reserve the dates. We anticipate being able to have 2 representatives per project in attendance at the Summit.
- 2-3 November in NYC
- On Monday 4 November, there's space available for small group collaborative sprints
NumFOCUS endeavors to make the Summit as valuable and applicable as possible for our projects. Without your feedback and advance participation in shaping the agenda, it is difficult for us to fully realize this goal!
We hope that you will take a few minutes to provide your feedback and ideas to Ralf regarding the specific discussion/presentation topics you'd like to see at the Summit.
Thanks very much,
Gina

Hi all,
The dates for the NumFOCUS Summit have been confirmed by Leah: 2-3 November in NYC. On Monday 4 November there's space available for small group collaborative sprints if people are interested in that. These dates will coincide (or partially overlap - details TBD) with PyData NYC.
The Program Committee has now gathered twice, and decided on the main topics for the Summit.
Funding (main track)
How to get it
Different funding models
How to manage it
How funding can change your project
Grant writing help
- ....
Leadership/Governance/Project Management (second track)
Training on NumFOCUS resources (e.g. Rocket, Keeper, shared drives & finances)
Governance challenges & help
“Ask a Lawyer” (copyright, trademarks, licensing…)
- ...
We will allow for more time allocated as true unconference time. The need for this was consistent feedback from last years' survey.
The requests to all of you are:
- Please discuss within your projects and have the person/people most interested in or suitable for these topics reserve these dates.
- Please propose detailed topics/sessions that fall within the scope of these funding and leadership main topics.
- These can be ones that you'd like to see, or like to lead.
- You can reply on this list, or send them to me.
Based on your feedback we aim to put together a schedule in July.
All the best,
Ralf
