I set up the CNAME for the custom domain to statsmodels.github.io

This should be available as www.statsmodels.org. It shows up for me on my ipad but both firefox and chrome on my working notebook still show error pages in some case, most likely because of outdated caching.

I didn't manage yet to setup statsmodels.org (without www) properly, AFAICS

I expect to be almost completely offline next week, so I need to decide by Friday whether to keep this or to disable the redirection of statsmodels.github.io again until I have more time to figure out how to set the DNS redirection.

Please report any problems with this if they persist after the DNS caches have updated.

BTW: the documentation on sourceforge is online again, so there is no urgency right now.

The plan is to make (www.)statsmodels.org as domain and statsmodels.github.io as hosting permanent. And once that works properly, we can set up the redirection from the sourceforge documentation.

Right now, statsmodels.github.io  has the more recent documentation but still had some problems in the examples.

FWIW, clicking on statsmodels.org in your post doesn't work for me, but it does if I just type it into the browser directly.

I'm guessing that is because your browser automatically appends 'www'
to the front of the address, and 'www.statsmodels.org' is working.

Ah, you are probably right.  I didn't know browsers would automatically do that for you.  Sorry for the false positive.  FWIW, both Chrome (mac) and Safari (mac) worked like that for me.

only the www. version works currently. I didn't manage the get the `statsmodels.org` version out of parking. (duplicate definition error that I couldn't figure out.)

I'm also never sure how and when browsers add or drop the www. either from the display or from the actual link. Until now I never needed to pay attention.

I will try again to fix `statsmodels.org` in two weeks or so.
