I am sorry to hear that. Unless PyScripter crashed the very moment
it was saving this file it is highly unlikely, that the loss of the
file is due to PyScripter. PyScripter opens the file for read only
and does not lock the file. I never had a user complain about this.
Is it possible that you had a disk failure which might have explained
the PyScripter crash as well? I would do a disk check, to see whether
the disk is corrupted and fix such errors.
Regarding backups there is an IDE option (Tools, Options, IDE Options,
Create Back up) that controls whether PyScripter creates a back up
before saving a file.
