I am running windows 7 64bit.  Python 2.7 64bit wxpython 64bit.  when I run a routine with python.exe it works. When I run it from pyscripter 2.5.3.0 x 64 I get the error "ImportError: DLL load failed: %1 is not a valid Win32 application." This is when the routine does an import wx and wx does an import _core_

Can you import wx in the standard Python 2.7 64bit console?

Here it works with PyScripter 2.5.3, Python 2.7 64bit  and  wx 2.8.12.1.

Are you using the standard python distribution from python.org?  Are you using the standard wx distribution?

Yes they are all the standard releases. I even uninstalled python27
and redownloaded from python.org and reinstalled.

And are you using the remote Python engine?  (Run, Python, Remote Engine)?
As I said here it works fine.

I double checked and I am running the remote engine. I will try the
internal but we'll see.

Solved.  I was getting permission problems but did not see the errors.  I run pyscripter as administrator and it works.  I will uninstall and reinstall into another diractory.

Salty,
In what regards were you getting permission problems? I'm running into the same error message when attempting to import some ArcGIS modules (arcpy, arcgisscripting, etc) using PyScripter 2.7.6(64bit).
