I am a college student currently attending an object oriented
programming course which is learning Python. I have been using
PyScripter as an editor and like it a great deal for the most part.
However ...

As the subject implies, how can I kill a running program in
PyScripter? What frequently happens "all the time", is whenever I am
working on a particular .PY file for a program I'm writing, if I run
into a syntax and/or functional error after running my program, and
then proceed to make a change to the code, then simply run the program
again, the same syntax and/or functional simply pops-up again like I
did nothing. I find that "only" if I shut down the whole PyScripter
program, then start it back up again, and then run my program again,
only after following this procedure am I able to regularly check on
the current condition of my program. This is "extremely" bothersome
and time consuming to keep having to shutdown and execute PyScripter
over and over again. So again, how can I avoid having to do this? I
need to be able to stay in the editor environment.

Running "graphics" module programs are especially annoying because if
the program I run crashes, PyScripter will not allow me to close the
graphics window to terminate the running program. I have to follow the
same annoying shutdown and restart procedure for PyScripter.

What can I do?

Go to your Windows Task Manager and kill the application.

It's crude but it works.

Are you using a graphics engine?  If so, => Run => Python Engine might help you.

Good luck.

Thank you for the reply and input upon the matter, however, killing
the PyScripter editor from Windows Task Manager is no different than
the shutdown-restart procedure I described. Respectfully, I was
already well aware that I could simply kill the PyScripter process
from Windows Task Manager. Is there really no way to simply kill a
running program in PyScripter?

Not that I have found.  Kiriakos is working on an update.  Perhaps this will resolve the problem.

I'm sorry this doesn't help your immediate need.

which engine do you use, which GUI.
I found that for wxPython, only the remote engine works well.

You would best try the newsgroup comp.lang.python

for me it works with the remote interpreter and I do a simple ctrl+F2
on crash to re-init the interpreter ....
