I know very little about the differences in Linux distributions. I
have a Shogo tablet with Linux 2.6.28 but am interested in mesh
networking this tablet using OSLR.

Can Pyramid Linux run on the Shogo tablet? If I install Pyramid do I
lose all the current device drivers? I want to be able to run the USB
ports?

Pyramid only runs on x86 platforms so it will definitely not run on Shogo's arm cpu.  According to the mailing list here

http://osdir.com/ml/network.olsr.user/2004-10/msg00044.html

there are no arm binaries offered. That is an old message I found after a quick google search so it may not be relevant any longer.  You'll have to do a more extensive search and maybe someone else has made arm binaries available.  Otherwise, you'll have to compile your own.

Hi Brian,
I'm not an expert on Pyramid (have not yet installed nor used it on
any device) but from what I understand it should run ok on the
ARM-based Shogo tablet.
Yes, if you install a new OS you will lose all the current device
drivers while using the new OS. I don't know if the Shogo is roomy
enough to dual-boot. It's possible that Pyramid has drivers to support
the Shogo's hardware, and I think it's worth a try if you can revert
to the old OS in case of trouble.
You will almost certainly be able to still use the USB ports, since
USB support in all Linux kernels is mature and robust.
As mentioned, I'm no expert on Pyramid and I suggest you don't do
anything that you can't easily revert until you've heard from someone
more knowledgeable than I.
