Symbol on the image?

Dear All,

I am trying to code an application where one of the use cases is that when a pixel in an image is clicked by mouse, to draw a symbol on it such as cross, circle, square etc. I have been searching if this is possible directly, but that does not seem to be the case. Does anyone have a suggestion how this can be achieved?
