Hi everyone,
We just announced today to start a global PyPSA initiative called "PyPSA meets Earth" - originating from our PyPSA meets Africa initiative.

If you like to help build a PyPSA-Eur (in future PyPSA-Eur-Sec) like tool version in other parts of the world then please get in contact with us. The energy system model is only one part of the initiative. We also work on open data and the support of open-source solvers.

Read more details in the full announcement:

Best wishes,

Max

Hi colleagues,
We present our open source tool and data efforts and discuss with IRENA, CSIR, G-PST, NREL the energy system modelling challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.
In particular, you will learn about:

  • The PyPSA meets Earth initiative
  • What the recently released PyPSA-Africa model can do
  • How we deal with missing data
  • Challenges and opportunities of energy system models
Thanks to the PyPSA meets Earth/Africa colleagues making this event possible. Big thanks also to Tom Brown and Team and the overall PyPSA community.

Further, thank you to all presenters and supporters including Davide Fioriti, Lukas Franken, Stuart Daniel James, Johannes Hampp, Stephen Lee, Hazem Abdel-Khalek , Matin Mahmood with whom the event wouldn’t be possible.
