Hi,
in PyPSA-Eur load shedding is implemented as a generator at each node
with very high marginal cost. The marginal cost is set so high that it
will only ever be used if no other combination of technologies can
supply the demand. When this generator is used, it usually means
something is off. You could interpret it as load not supplied. As it
interacts with the nodal imbalance, it could also affect line congestion.
