Hello,
I would like to collect, with snakemake, the data related to a region made of few countries.
What is typically done by PyPSA-EUR is to collect only the buses, lines and power system components included in these countries. In my case it would be useful to have also the data related to the connection lines shared with the neighbouring countries.
I remember this feature being mentioned in one of your tutorials, but I could not find it documented in your documentation.
Is it possible to do it without having to collect all the data of the neighbouring countries?

Best regards,
Michele

Hi Michele,

to also retrieve interconnection capacities you would have to include the neighbouring countries in the `config.yaml` under `countries:`. This also means, that the time series etc. will be calculated for all these countries. I don't think there is an easy way to circumvent this. However, you can try the `focus_weights:` configuration (https://pypsa-eur.readthedocs.io/en/latest/configuration.html#top-level-configuration) which will give you some control over how coarsely you wish to resolve the neighbouring countries in relation to your primary countries (percentage of clustered nodes in country).

Best wishes,

Fabian N

Hello Fabian,
thank you for the answer. I will consider using the focus_weights feature.

Best regards,
Michele
