I'm pleased to announce the availability of PyOxidizer 0.11! Release notes are at https://pyoxidizer.readthedocs.io/en/pyoxidizer-0.11.0/history.html#version-0-11-0.

This release contains updated Python distributions, initial support for producing Windows installers, Apple M1 hardware support, and more. There are some backwards incompatibilities. But they should hopefully be minor for most users. In many cases, existing Starlark configuration files from 0.10 should "just work."

There is currently one known regression in this release: building macOS binaries requires the 11.0 or 11.1 SDK. It is still possible to target older macOS versions (see docs at https://pyoxidizer.readthedocs.io/en/pyoxidizer-0.11.0/pyoxidizer_distributing_macos.html). This issue/regression is pretty gnarly and it is unclear what the path forward will be. https://github.com/indygreg/PyOxidizer/issues/373 has the details. There may be a relatively quick 0.12 release to incorporate all the fixes this thorny issue will likely entail.

Thank you for this release! I look forward to tinkering with the macOS target. Forgive my ignorance, but is the macOS target on a laptop or desk workstation equivalent to the OS architecture that one finds on iPads or Apple handheld devices?
