Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce the upcoming Pyomo & Energy Modeling Workshop at NTNU in Trondheim, Norway, 3-5 October, 2017.

This workshop will be a great opportunity for those who are doing mathematical programming to learn more about the modeling capabilities of Pyomo. Moreover, participants will also have the possibility to present their own models and applications related to Energy- and/or Power Systems, and discuss ideas for new developments with Pyomo developers and other participants.

Agenda:

       Day 1: Introduction to Pyomo

Deterministic optimization programs (LP, MILP, NLP)

       Basic functionalities

       Day 2: Advancing with Pyomo

Stochastic programming, complementarity models (MPEC, EPEC) and decomposition techniques (Benders, progressive hedging)

       Advanced functionalities in Pyomo

       Day 3: Energy Modeling Workshop

Participants can present their own models and applications. This will be a nice opportunity to get feedback on any benefits of reformulations in Pyomo

Contact the organizers in case you want to present.

Registration:

There is a maximum limit of 40 participants and the registration is free. Spots will therefore be allocated on a first come, first served, basis by registering using this link: https://goo.gl/forms/0EOlg9jNBGtweug52

Duration of the daily schedule will be in the range 09:00 to 16:00.

Send an email to martin.kr...@ntnu.no if you want to present (20-45min slots), including title and a short summary (one paragraph).

Travel and accommodation:

There are multiple buses departing from the Airport directly to Trondheim City and NTNU every 10 minutes.

We recommend to book accommodation early as there will be a large festival in Trondheim from October 5th (program is continuously released for those who might want to combine this workshop with some festival activities https://uka.no/program/).

More information will be sent out later to the registered participants regarding location and schedule for workshop and social activities.

Hope to see you here in Trondheim October 3-5. Please forward to people who might be interested.

Best regards,

The Organizers
