Ihave been using Samsung Smart Switch in Windows 10 to backup my Samsung S9+. However, now I have a problem in starting the Samsung Smart Switch. After launching, it tries to update the program, but fails everytime. I have tried to re-install the program with no success (downloading a new version of the program from the Samsung download center), and even tried it in two different computers. Any ideas to get the Samsung Smart Switch running again.

I have not managed to completely solve the problem. However, now I downloaded and installed the latest version of Smart Switch, and it is at least somehow working. It still suggest to update Smart Switch every time the program is executed, but now I can just cancel it and the application seems to work properly. This very peculiar since previously I have had no problems with Smart Switch.

I am having the same problem. Smart switch tries to update "some components", but gets stuck on 100% download and never completes the update. I have unistalled and reinstalled several times on several different computers. I am not trying to backup my phone, I am trying to update my Galaxy s20 ultra that has been carrier umlocked and needs to be updated through smart switch.

I had the same problem. Smart Switch would download the update (v4.2.2), but then app would close when the download got to 100%. I would open Smart Switch again, and the same issue would occur so I couldn't use the application because it tried to updated each time I opened it and then it would close automatically. I downloaded and installed the new version of Smart Switch from the Samsung website over the top of the existing installation on Windows 10 1909, and now it's working without any issues.

I'm having a similar issue except when I start the samsung switch program on my pc and allow it to update it gets all the way to the end and then I get an error message saying a newer version of the program is already installed. When I click "OK", the program closes.

You are much better off not using Smart Switch or even the Samsung USB driver, and just let Windows 10 do it's thing with everything. When I tried using the latest SS it crashed my workstation giving me a black screen on both monitors. Before that happened Windows Explorer just said 'working on it' for ages, and the task bar vanished!

When adwcleaner finds preinstalled software (in my case samsung smartswitch), i cant skip the quarantine window. It only allows my to check the preinstalled software and do a quarantine. But I dont want to remove this software so I can only go back to the main screen. When I dont select anything nothing happens when I click quaratine. There should maybe be a skip button or something, or a setting wich lets you choose to check for preinstalled software or not.

Aparece no Mac a imagem abaixo... O que a Apple tem a me dizer sobre o ocorrido, ocorrente?

Cant back up my Galaxy J3 or A40 to Samsung Smart Switch. Have been leasing with Samsung and after trying a few things they suggested a factory re-set. Im not doing that as I fail see how 2 different types of Samsung phones could fail together. Over to you Apple !

Hope it is clear to everybody, that this is not a Apple os x problem that Samsung Smart Switch: do not work.It is Samsung Smart Switch developers who did not care about to fix and update this.Write to the Samsung Support and you will see what they answer, see some reply before from me.So just we can wait SAMSUNG is fixing that.

I didn't mean to imply that Big Sur has problems. I meant that the Smart Switch problem is that it doesn't work with Big Sur. I have an older mac with Catalina, so I was able to use that. Or, if you have access to a Windows computer, Samsung probably has a Smart Switch download for that.

Yes, I'm in the same boat. Have been checking for weeks now and there's still no update. Very disappointing. Any news on where this is at? Other options for transferring that people can say are actually working?

Almost 5+ months (since BigSur launching, actually) in the "approval" process, and neither Samsung (1-800-726-7864) nor Samsung Media Solutions Team (855-795-0509) with its Software Developer Team (Smartswitch app creators) at 877-265-3408 (from a few days now this one is with a "busy" signal when calling) can give a correct date for their Apple approval. The solution the app developer throws by having us Mac Users to run OS in safe mode and whatnot, it is just ridiculous! Even worse, having a so expensive phone and that the manufacturer will not give us a way to back up our phones. If samsung does not fix this problem, Mac users will ultimately have to die on an iPhone.

And yes, I have already been emailing with sswit...@samsung.com from 8/31/2020 to no avail for a definite date of app to be approved by Apple and back to normal. The solution they give (described above9 is just unacceptable.

It's obvious apple wants everyone to move over to iPhones. I just upgraded to the s21 plus from iPhone 11 and wont go back. The relationship between apple and samsung devices is not good which is funny considering they make there LCD screens. Samsung devices still work well with windows I believe, and thats the direction samsung wants android user's to go without saying they want you to go.

I backed up my Galaxy phone using smart switch. I backed it up to my local drive. I would like to view a list of all of the phone's files that were backed up. I would prefer to do this just using Windows or Linux without needing to connect a phone. Is there a manifest file with this information?
