Hi Olivier, colleagues,

I only found one message regarding pipewire, from 2022, and I thought I'd ask:
Is PYO compatible with pipewire? I did a prior project (on raspi) that used pipewire and found it FAR more easy to work with than Jack, and I'd like to keep that work without killing my installation. Has anyone done this? Is it possible to build PYO against pipewire?

C.

+1 on this question. Pipewire is a nice new workflow, and once you have it, it spoils you against going back to anything else.

Hi, sorry if I'm missing something, but wouldn't pipewire-jack do the
job here?

Description: PipeWire JACK plugin, for JACK applications to output via PipeWire
PipeWire is a server and user space API to deal with multimedia
pipelines. This includes:
.
- Making available sources of audio and video (such as from a capture devices
or application provided streams) and multiplexing this with clients.
- Accessing sources of audio and video for consumption.
- Generating graphs for audio and video processing.
.
This package contains a plugin for JACK applications to output via PipeWire.

Bests,

Yes, I almost forgot, yes, thanks Tiago.

pw-jack <app-name> <args>....

And you have fooled pipewire into accepting the jack-native app as a pipewire app.
