So sorry to bother with such a simple thing, but I'm trying to set up a brand new laptop. Anaconda is installed.  WSL2 is installed.  Ubuntu is installed.  Now for PyNE.

I set my env var (Path) to include C:\Users\Anaconda and C:\Users\Anaconda\Scripts.  But when I go to the powershell from launching Anaconda, I get this attached pic.  If anyone can give basic guidance I'd appreciate it.

Hello

I don't know a lot about installing on WSL - perhaps others on this list do.

(At the risk of speculating and sending you off in the wrong direction...) My instincts make me think that you are using the Windows native version of Anaconda in a Windows native PowerShell and therefore conda is seeking a Windows native version of PyNE.  We don't (yet?) publish such a thing.

You may need to install anaconda inside your WSL Ubuntu environment, and then run conda from there with the expectation that it will find the linux version of PyNE to install there (?).

I hope that is useful,

Paul

I think that Paul has identified the problem... I did this fairly recently (WSL->Ubuntu->PyNE). Anyway, it looks like you are opening up a PowerShell prompt to your windows environment. You need to load the Ubuntu app, not PowerShell. This should also place you inside the Linux filesystem, as opposed to the windows one (C:/.../) . There there is a way to use PowerShell instead of the ubuntu interface, but that's not the issue here I think.

Once you load the ubuntu app, you need to also install anaconda in there, as opposed to in windows, if that's what you have done:

Hopefully that helps.

Will
