Hi Pynbody enthusiast,
I’d like to calculate the Fourier amplitudes (m=0-6), not of the mass distribution on (x,y), but rather of an, in principle, arbitrary distribution on an arbitrary plane. Specifically, I’d like to do it for the distribution of stars on the (z, vz) plane weighted by, say, vphi (some may recognise what this is =). Another one is the distribution of stars on (x,y), but weighted by vrxy.
Is this possible with Pynbody? If yes, has someone already implemented such a function? If yes, would you be open to sharing it?
Cheers
Thor
