Does anyone have an idea why I do not get CBEAM stress results in an OP2 results file from a SOL111?  I've attached a simple beam created with CBEAM elements and the OP2 created with MSC.NASTRAN 2016.1.  Interestingly, if I change the CBEAM's to CBAR's, I can read the complex cbar stresses.  I do get CBEAM results from a SOL101 however.  I've verified the results are in the OP2 via Patran however they seem to be unrecognized by pyNastran (no error or warning message either).

Thank you,

Dan

Dan,

It is currently unsupported.  There are some differences with MSC vs. NX on the CBEAM OP2 result and I was never clear on what came from which or how to generate the result.  Part of that is answered at least now.

Do you have the F06 that goes with this?  Also, can you add strain to the output?

Well darn.  I've attached the f06 for the run I attached to my original post.  I'll rerun the analysis with strain and attach the results in my next post.

Here are the results from the same analysis including strain.

Anything I can do to help?

Thanks.

Dan,

No worries.  It's more or less done.  It still needs to be vectorized, so it's 100x-500x faster, but unless you have 100,000 CBEAMs, it should be more than fine.  The F06 writing is supported, which is how I do validation.
