Hello All,

I'm using Nastran 2019 as the solver for the runs and output stains in an op2. I used the op2 reader to access the OP2. When I printed the model stats, I could see the model had cquad4_composite_strain.png data in it for 32916 elements. I checked the results in PATRAN and I have visualize them using the same OP2. However, when I tried to access the strain data, the program retuned me empty list. When I tried the same with cquad4_composite_stress, I could results for each element and its corresponding layers.

Attached herewith are the images of my Nastran .dat file, code snippet. Kindly advise what I am missing to get the strain output.

Let me know do you need additional clarification to make myself more clear.

Thanks in Advance,
Venkata Kothapalli

Hi Venkata,

You need a PLOT fly in your STRAIN request in the case control section.  That activates writing to a binary file (OP2 in your case).
