I installed anaconda and started the terminal of anaconda. Next, i cloned sfepy and from git shell for windows, i cloned it and cd sfepy.

However, the installation is stuck when executing python setup.py build_ext --inplace or python setup.py install.

No module named msvccompiler in numpy.distutils; trying from distutils
.....
error: Unable to find vcvarsall.bat

Thanks,

Abdul,

We just release a Windows installer for pymks and updated the installations documentation for Windows.

http://materialsinnovation.github.io/pymks/rst/INSTALLATION.html#installation-on-windows

Hopefully that make installation on Windows easier.

Thanks,

David

I started following the instructions on this link. Downloaded Anaconda and tried to install it. However, I got the following message while trying to install it in the default folder.

Directory 'C:\Users\..\Anacoda' already exists, please choose a different location.

So, i chose a different location and clicked Next. In the next screen, both checkboxs were ticked and proceeded to install. Installation couldn't proceed due to following error.

Error opening file for writing:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Anaconda\msvcr90.dll

Click Abort to stop the installation,
Retry to try again, or
Ignore to skip this file.

Looking forward to suggestions from your side,

Thanks
-Abdul

I figured it out. There was already an installed anaconda. I first deleted that through control panel but that didn't work. So, i searched it and then, deleted the particular directories. Installing anaconda and windows installer afterwards was pretty smooth.
