Call for speakers is open at Plone Conference 2019! PloneConf
2019 will take place from 21-27 October. The deadline for
presentation submissions is 30 June 2019. However I have inside
information that a second round will open on 1 July. *ssh! it's
a sekrit!*

About PloneConf 2019
--------------------
Pylons Project developers will be conducting trainings, talks,
and code sprints at PloneConf 2019. PloneConf 2019 includes two
days of trainings on 21-22 Oct, three days of talks on 23-25
Oct, and two days of code sprints 26-27 Oct. The epic PloneConf
Party on Friday, 25 October should not be missed, and plus-ones
can join you with their own ticket. Tickets and more

application development in Python.
- Plone and Pyramid share common origins in Python, Zope, ZODB,
and traversal.
- Developers from both Plone and Pylons Project communities are
innovative, especially in the separation of front and back
ends. The Plone community created Volto[1] a React-based
frontend, Pastanaga[2] a UI/UX framework, Guillotina[3] an
asyncio server, and plone.restapi[4] a RESTful API to the Plone
content management system. Pyramid is great for creating REST
APIs, allowing you to use whatever you like for your JavaScript
front end. pyramid_openapi3[5] helps you keep your API
documentation current, and validates your API requests and
responses, as well as a Swagger try-it-out documentation and server.

I must chip in with my two cents: PloneConf is consistently one of the best conferences I go to.
I haven’t used Plone in ~5 years, but I still go to PloneConf every year. The level of talks on the
usual “related technologies” track and especially how deep the hallway discussions go is what brings
me back every year.


Very much looking forward to meeting any Pyramid peeps in Ferrara!
