Hello,

I was trying to adjust your example notebook 01_F0_to_F1_1D_MOT_capture.ipynb to use it for my case with Strontium. But I'm unfortunately still a bit confused by the units. Especially how the x0 = (6/1.4/15) is defined. I figured out that the 15 is the magnetic field gradient in Gauss per cm and the 6 is the linewidth in MHz /2pi, but what is the 1.4?

I would be really grateful if you could help me.

Best
Max

Hi Max,

Sorry, your email somehow fell through the cracks.  The 1.4 is a rough approximation of the Bohr magneton divided by h: 1.4 MHz/G.
