Greetings,

I've been having a long-overdue pylast hacking spree that has resulted so far in Python 3 support and several bug fixes and enhancements. Also very little API breakage to Taggable derived objects, you might wanna watch out for it if you're gonna test the new code.

The new module should be compatible with Python>=2.7. Please report any regressions or all-around-issues to the issue tracker.

Thank you.

Hi,

I've made a Debian package of pylast. The package source can be found
at https://github.com/mopidy/pylast-deb, and the package can be
downloaded or installed from http://apt.mopidy.com/.

From the little testing I've done of pylast 0.5, it seems like plain
scrobbling works nicely with Python 2.6.

I saw you had a later commit which was fixing some 2.6 issue. It would
be great if you could keep 2.6 support for say another six months. I
believe most end users are still not at 2.7/3.x. E.g. Ubuntu will
switch to 2.7 with the release of 11.04 in April.

If not, make it very clear in the docs that <=2.6 users should keep to
0.4 and >=2.7 users should use 0.5 or later.

Cheers,
Stein Magnus

Alrighty then. I'll keep Python 2.6 support for as long as I can. But I don't have 2.6 installed, so the 2.6 users are gonna have to watch out for regressions and report them to the issue tracker if any.
