Hello!I'm writing on behalf of Kraków Python User Group -- PyKonik(http://blog.pykonik.org/). On recent meet-up we have decided toorganize Django sprint in our city.Dates are not yet known, but we're aiming for the sprint to happen inFebruary 2012. Some local companies promised to help with organizingspacious room with decent Internet connection and some food.We have contacted Honza Kral with positive response: he's willing tocome and help. Our community is small (around two dozens) and only two people were everparticipants in open source sprint. We're seeking help in form ofguidance on the best form of the event and also in contacting other coredevelopers. Also official blessing would be nice, too.Best regardsTomek Paczkowski
As for the event itself -- because of the timing, the best thing towork on will be fixing bugs to help the release get out the door [1].This list is fairly short at the moment, but I'm sure it will getlonger as we get closer to cutting a release. Get someone at thesprint to allocate those bugs out to people/teams in the room, andkeep going until there are no bugs left! We've got some more general advice for sprint participants on our Wiki[2]. Reading Django's contribution guides are also a possible sourceof inspiration [3] [4]. If you can set a goal like "Everyone whoattends gets a ticket to Ready For Checkin", it gives you something towork towards, and if everyone pairs up, it's a completely achievablegoal.

Any reason we should prefer this date over the other (or vice versa)?
Either one is fine with me.

I my opinion you should handle this situation like a boss :) Just set
up a date. There is not much space to be democratic in this case. If
nothing really big will come up (and probability is low) we will stick
to your proposition.
Jannis is using his lei...@gmail.com address fro posting to django groups.
cheers,
Konrad
The localization is reeeeealy good, close to many hostels, many restaurants, easy to find. Sounds very tempting.
You should submit a request to spr...@python.org to receive
sponsorship for your sprints from the Python Software Foundation! In
2011 we funded 11 sprints, all of which requested funding for their
group's meals.
I'm the leader of the PSF Sprints committee so I can say for sure that
we'd love to help out a sprint by your group. We operate based on
sponsorship, though, so we have you buy the actual stuff then we send
you money after the fact.
The domain? :D we can sponsor a more pronounceable domain and some
hosting, if needed.

Nokando, sorry :/ At least, not for 40+ people.

Need some corporate support? Or brownies? ;)

Yeah, the first thing to die is always wifi. Used to play with it years
ago but in a different scenario (town-wide wireless backbone). I might
be able to help a bit but probably not much.

How many outlets?
Best regards,
Grzegorz Nosek
We can create any pykonik.org subdomain and redirect it wherever you want.

I was thinking of e.g. djangosprint.krakow.pl

If we're changing domain, than better quickly. I'd like to get it out to the public ASAP.I'm leaning towards sprint.pykonik.org.Can someone CNAME this domain to django-sprint-krk.ep.io ?

Only a few really, 3 desks+chairs would be doable easily.

How big is the "+" in 40+? ;)
